18 Feb 2020 St Helens Hobart Triabunna Cranbrook

Coordinator-General Shane Stone, Advisory Board member David Galvin and Agency staff are visiting drought-affected regions in Tasmania’s east.
The team met with primary producers and visited a vineyard in the Tea Tree wine district to learn first-hand the local priority issues. 
They also met with Liberal Senator for Tasmania, the Hon. Jonathon Duniam, members of the not-for-profit organisation Rural Alive & Well, and held discussions with Glamorgan Spring Bay Council on projects undertaken through the Drought Communities Programme.

7 Feb 2020 Canberra

Coordinator-General Shane Stone presented at the Drought Roundtable at Parliament House in Canberra.  The meeting was chaired by Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud and attended by representatives from the National Farmers' Federation, the Australian Banking Association, the Australian Local Government Association and state farming bodies.

6 Feb 2020 Brisbane

Coordinator-General Shane Stone chaired a meeting of the Agricultural Ministers' Working Group on Drought, with representatives from state and territory governments in attendance.  The group met to explore ways of improving the effectiveness and coordination of drought recovery programs nation-wide.  The meeting will report back to the next Agriculture Ministers’ Forum

28 Jan 2020 Orange

The National Drought and North Queensland Flood Response and Recovery Agency held its inaugural Board meeting.  The Prime Minister, the Hon Scott Morrison MP attended the meeting, along with the Minister for Water Resources, Drought, Rural Finance, Natural Disaster and Emergency Management the Hon David Littleproud MP, and the Minister for Education, the Hon Dan Tehan MP.

22 Jan 2020 Orange

Coordinator-General Shane Stone had meetings with the Regional Investment Corporation (RIC) and the NSW Department of Primary Industries.  He also met with the Mayor of Orange, held a working lunch with local community members and visited a drought affected sheep property in the Cabonne Shire.

17 Jan 2020 Tenterfield Stanthorpe Esk

The team held a breakfast meeting with local Rotary members and others. At Stanthorpe they met with council and other officials to learn about dams and water infrastructure projects in the region. At Esk they met with the Mayor of Somerset Regional Council to discuss drought concerns and ideas to better support affected communities.
