Special Disaster Recovery grants of up to $75,000 for primary producers and $50,000 for small businesses impacted by this year’s flood event have been expanded to include the Etheridge and Charters Towers Shires.
The deadline for applications in all affected areas has also been extended until 28 February 2020. This will allow more regions to access support and ensure that help is available to those who need it most.
The grants are intended to help farmers and small businesses get back on their feet after the devastating floods and can be used for clean-up, re-stocking, repair and reconstruction of damaged facilities as well as replacing damaged equipment.
Minister for Natural Disaster and Emergency Management David Littleproud, Queensland Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Mark Furner and Queensland Minister for Employment and Small Business and Minister for Training and Skills Development Shannon Fentiman jointly announced the extension.
