National Drought and Flood Coordinator-General Shane Stone was in Darwin recently for meetings with key stakeholders. While there, he spoke to NT News about the drought situation in the Top End.
Although parts of the Territory have experienced a good wet season, Shane explained that many areas are still bone dry and for those areas that have had some good rain, you can’t expect to go through an extended period of drought and think everything is going to change overnight.
He reminded Territorians that there is support available.
