Agency CEO Shane Stone met with the Regional Investment Corporation (RIC) CEO Bruce King and staff at their Orange NSW headquarters recently to get an update on the AgRebuild disaster recovery loans for flood impacted primary producers in North Queensland.
As of 31 October, 10 North Queensland flood loans have been approved to the value of $33.8 million.
The loans will be used to pay for activities such as replanting lost crops, replacing livestock and on-farm infrastructure, paying for operating expenses relating to flood damage, or as the co-contribution to access the North Queensland Restocking, Replanting & On-farm Infrastructure Grants.
To be eligible for the AgRebuild RIC loan, properties must be located in one of the following flood impacted shires: Burdekin, Burke, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Douglas, Flinders, Hinchinbrook, McKinlay, Richmond, Townsville and Winton.
Mr Stone said the meeting is another example of the collaborative working relationship NQLIRA maintains with government and non-government stakeholders involved in delivering support to flood-affected communities in North Queensland.
