My name is June Bell and I am the Regional Recovery Officer for the Southern WA region.
I grew up on a small farm in Canning Vale and now run my own property in Kojonup, about 250km south east of Perth, where we grow barley and canola crops.
As a Regional Recovery Officer my role is to provide a link to the Australian Government drought initiatives, making sure people receive the support they need. I will also serve as a voice for the region, through which people can share their experiences and provide feedback to government on the issues affecting them.
In my previous job at Services Australia, I worked closely with the Mobile Service Centres visiting rural and regional towns all over WA, helping to deliver financial services and mental health support to communities impacted by drought. This experience has given me a good understanding of the challenges impacting regional Australia.
As the Regional Recovery Officer for Southern WA I am excited to be back on the road. I have spent most of my life living in rural Australia and am committed to seeing the country communities around me grow and prosper.
In this role I will be travelling widely and I am looking forward to meeting and delivering for the people of Southern WA.
