My name is Jane Mack and I am the Regional Recovery Officer for the NT region.

I was born and raised in the Northern Territory and spent the early years of my life on a beef cattle station south of Tennant Creek. Over the years I have lived and worked on cattle stations as far south at Alice Springs and as far north as Darwin.

I have worked on the Barkley Tablelands turning off fat cattle for export and dug out dry dams on the Sturt Plateau in hope of drought-breaking rain to fill them.  Working on these stations has given me first-hand experience in the breadth of challenges faced by graziers, primary producers and communities living in rural and regional Australia.

In recent years I have taken a break from working on the land to pursue a career in Criminal and Family law. In 2015 I moved to Darwin and worked as a paralegal but after three-and-a-half years I have made the decision to return to my true passion - the pastoral industry.

As the Regional Recovery Officer for the Northern Territory I am committed to supporting you, your businesses and your communities in managing the effects of drought and other challenges such as COVID-19.

I look forward to visiting your town or property soon and discussing how the National Drought and Flood Agency can assist you and your family.
