My name is Rachael O’Brien and I am the Regional Recovery Officer for North West Queensland.
I am also a livestock producer based near Longreach and have lived in North Queensland for the past 10 years.
I bring to this role a decade of experience working in the fields of animal health, biosecurity and livestock extension, as well as knowledge gained through my involvement in programs that partnered with peak industry councils, state farming organisations and all levels of governments.
My experience also extends to red meat production systems gained through previous jobs and our own cattle production business.
As the Regional Recovery Officer for North West Queensland I look forward to engaging with livestock producers and connecting rural businesses and communities with the Australia Government’s response to drought, flood and COVID-19.
I will be on the road often and looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and making new acquaintances.
