Flood recovery - Emma and Andrew Forster

Emma and Andrew Forster

"The quicker we can restock and get back into the cattle business the better, and it's better for our community too. Once we can generate a cash flow we can start spending money locally again."

With the help of the Government's $75,000 clean up and $400,000 restocking, replanting and on-farm infrastructure grants, Winton's Emma and Andrew Forster are getting back to business after this year’s devastating floods.

In October 2020 the Australian Government released After the flood: A strategy for long-term recovery. The Strategy was developed by the National Drought and Flood Agency, with and for communities affected by the 2019 North Queensland flood event.  This blueprint for the region’s future can be used by anyone with a stake in its long-term prosperity. You can read more about it here.
